How will the winner of the races be determined?
The overall winner of the 10km Foreshore Run will be the first individual over the line in both male and female categories. Second and third prizes will also be awarded. The winners of the Junior, Open and Masters categories in the 10km Foreshore Run will be those male and female entrants first across the line in their nominated category. The winners of the 3km Fun Run will be the first male and female across the line in both the open and junior category.
What if I register but can’t make it on the day of the event?
Each entrant acknowledges their entry fee is non-refundable should they not compete or the event is cancelled or changed by the Event Organiser due to reasons beyond the reasonable control of the Event Organiser, such as extreme weather or for safety reasons.
Can some of my family members be entered in different races?
Yes, but family members must register for each event and any children entering must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.
The Caloundra Foreshore Fun Run does not have an official Team Category. Feel free to enter with friends and family and create your own unofficial team.
Can I enter and compete in both the 10km and 3km run events?
No, they both run simultaneously. However, all entrants in the 10km and 3km run events are welcome to enter the Family Walk at no additional cost. You will not need to register for the 3km Family Walk as you have already agreed to the event’s terms and conditions.
Do I have to pay entry fees for my child?
Children over 5 years old must register and pay an entry fee. Registration is free for children four and under. Children who are pushed in prams or strollers do not need to be registered.
Can my child enter the 10km event?
There is no age limit for the 10km event and we are aware many families will want to walk the full course together. It is up to the parent or guardian to decide if their child is capable of completing and enjoying the longer course.
Does each entrant get a t-shirt?
Entrants in the 10km Foreshore Run receive a race singlet ONLY if they have registered on-line prior to Thursday 14 June 2012 at 9:00pm. This singlet is given to them when they collect their race bib and timing chip. Entrants in the 3km Fun Run and Family Walk do not receive an event t-shirt.
OLR students receive a t-shirt for participating in the event as part of the Tri Challenge Program initiated by the school.
When can I collect my race bib and timing chip?
All entrants will receive a race bib. 10km Foreshore Run and 3km Fun Run entrants will also receive a timing chip. Race bibs and timing chips will be available for collection from the Our Lady of the Rosary School (Alfred Street, Caloundra) between 1pm and 4pm on Saturday 16 June 2012. Entrants must bring their e-ticket confirmation and valid identification to collect their race bib and timing chip.
Race bibs and timing chips can be collected on behalf of an entrant provided the person collecting has all e-tickets. Race bibs and timing chips cannot be collected prior to this date. If race packs are not collected prior to the event, they will be available for collection at the entrants start line (10km or 3km) from the Race Bib & Timing Chip Collection tent.
How do I get to the start of my event?
On street parking at both start lines will be available and a free bus shuttle will run from Moffat Beach Park back to the 10km start line. Please refer to the Transport and Parking section under About the Event on this website for more details.
Are there any rules for young children?
Children who intend walking or running the course must do so under the supervision of a parent or guardian and must be entered and wearing a race number. It is the right of the Event Organisers to remove any person not wearing a race number from the course.
Yes, we encourage young families to be involved and strollers are permitted. Strollers/ prams must commence at the rear of the race start. Strollers and similar devices must meet Australian Safety Standards and have appropriate safety restraints.
Can I ride my bike or scooter?
No. This event is designed for running and walking participants only. For safety reasons bikes, roller-skates, roller-blades, rip boards and scooters are prohibited on the course.
Are dogs allowed on the course?
Yes, however they must be on a lead at all times and owners must clean up after their animals along the course. Owners and dogs will be directed to the rear of the race start.
In the event of extreme weather conditions, event organisers will determine if an alternative route can be used or any other action is needed. Participants will be notified of any changes via the website, local newspapers and radio.
What road closures will be in effect on the day?
Road closures will be in place at the 10km Foreshore Run start and finish. Further details will be posted on this website closer to the event.
Will there be baggage storage available on the day?
