According to the , the employment of skincare specialists is projected to grow 9% from 2022 to 2032. This percentage is much faster than the average for all occupations. An average of 12,400 openings for this career are projected each year, over the next decade. 

Estheticians create a relaxing environment, working one-on-one with clients to perform procedures that benefit the skin. These include maintaining the skin’s health and wellness, improving the overall appearance, and analyzing skincare needs to provide treatment accordingly. Estheticians work on all parts of the body.

There are a variety of careers for an esthetician such as a skincare specialist, beauty business owner, salesperson, esthetician instructor, medical esthetician, make-up artist, and spa manager. 

TRAINING

In all 50 states, estheticians require licensure. The first step of becoming an esthetician is specialized training at an Esthetics school, or a cosmetology school with skin care specialist training programs, . Student Kit & Supplies

The 海角社区 Student Kit provides you with all of the essential tools needed to learn, execute and successfully complete our program. Our professional-grade quality items will also assist you in starting your new career as a licensed cosmetologist. These items include in-house, salon-centric books, mannequins, hairstyling items, hair coloring items, hair-cutting items, chemical texturizing items, skincare, and nail care items. Students receive their student kit during their orientation and it will be theirs to keep beyond beauty school.

Graduation Requirements

In order to fully complete our Cosmetology program, there are several requirements:

– Satisfied all necessary assignments assigned to you per Empire curriculum and educators
– Completed all mandatory state-required hours
– Completed all state-required service credits (Varies per state)
– Maintained satisfactory attendance and academics requirements
Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth per Empire鈥檚 student catalog agreement

PLATFORM ARTIST

Platform Artists are known as Subject Matter Experts in their specialized area. Platform Artists traditionally work with Vendors or Brands in the industry and are oftentimes the 鈥淔ace of the Brand鈥� in many respects.

SALON OWNER

Another career path is a Salon Owner, responsible for the daily operations of their establishment which include profit, marketing, staff, retail management and more.

NAIL TECHNICIAN

If your passion is more geared toward nail care, perhaps a career as a Nail Technician is what you are looking for. Nail Technicians specialize in the care and beautification of the hands and feet.

ESTHETICIAN

Are you more interested in skincare? Estheticians provide relaxation to their guests while providing healthy skin and glow. Lastly, Hair Color Specialists are licensed cosmetologists who specialize in altering the hair color of their clients.

As a Hairstylist, you will be working with Guests to beautify their look.  You are working with a large variety of services to offer your Guests.  You are a well-rounded stylist that chooses to work with Guests from all ethnicities that want a range of services for their hair. Many Hairstylists choose this career path when they don鈥檛 want to limit themselves to a specialty.  Many other Hairstylists start with this career choice out of school and choose a specialty down the line when they have gained more experience in the industry.

As a Platform Artist, you are first and foremost at the top of your game.聽 Platform Artists traditionally work with Vendors or Brands in the industry and are oftentimes the 鈥淔ace of the Brand鈥� in many respects.聽 As a Platform Artist you will be travelling around to many industry events and performing on stage for any number of industry professionals.聽 As a Platform Artist you could also be conducting more individualized classes and events as well.聽 Platform Artists are regarded as the Subject Matter Experts in their craft.聽 Many of which specialize in a particular area of the industry, for example: Haircolor or Haircutting. 聽 Part of being a Platform Artist is also the preparation phase which includes: model selection, wardrobe and a specialized hair plan prior to the model being on stage.聽 Many people that reach this status travel internationally.聽 Most if not all Platform Artists still practice their craft in a salon or spa in their hometown.

• Conduct Main Stage shows at industry events
• Create the content for the classes and shows that will be delivered
• Collaborate with others on the content and delivery of the classes and shows

As a Platform Artist you will most definitely work weekends.  Most industry events are through the weekend.  Your schedule will also include 1-3 days of preparation depending on the scale of the event.  Since being a Platform Artist is for the most part session work or a contract per event, you will still have flexibility in the number of events you do per year.  As you build your brand as an Artist, you will also be able to choose locations and sizes of events to participate in.
